About Me
Moira is a Registered Counselling Psychologist with over 15 years’ experience working with people to enhance their wellbeing and resilience. She started work as an Organisational Psychologist in corporate settings in New Zealand and Asia, before retraining as a Counselling Psychologist focusing on adults, adolescents, and couples. She has worked in schools, primary health organisations, and private practice. Moira uses a warm, empathic, and pragmatic style with her clients.
Moira loves working with teenagers, people with ADHD and those navigating complex relationships or situations at home and/or work. Her aim is to help people understand and develop tools to manage their mental health challenges and presenting issues, to build resilience and get more out of their day-to-day lives.
Qualifications are:
Masters of Health Science in Counselling Psychology
PGDip in Counselling Psychology
Masters of Social Science in Industrial and Organisational Psychology
Member of NZPsS and EMDRNZ
Registered with the New Zealand Psychologists Board

Moira is trained in evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and, Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR). She works with clients on a range of issues including:

Appointments are $220 (inc. GST) for 55 minutes. Invoices are sent the day of the session and must be paid prior to the next appointment or within seven days. I offer disoounts for students. I do not offer ACC Sensitive Claims work.

Yes, I offer online services over a secure Zoom video link. I also work with couples presenting from different locations, and in most cases also provide EMDR therapy online.

The length of treatment varies depending on your presenting concerns, goals and resources. Within the first session we will have a good idea of what approach may work for you and how many sessions may be required.
